MicroStrategy Adds 4,167 Bitcoins

Business intelligence and software company MicroStrategy bought 4,167 bitcoins worth $190.5 million between February 15 and April 4, with current prices moving towards $47k.

The Virginia-based firm says that it paid $45,714 per bitcoin on average, with the total holdings now at 129,218, worth about $6 billion at the currency price.

MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor maintains that the software firm does not intend to sell its holding but eyes longer-term gains. The company did not purchase any coins in the second quarter of February.

MicroStrategy has increased its accumulation rate of the BTC, with the average amount totaling 85 tokens a day compared to a rate of 20 in the acquisition made between December 30 last year and January 31, 2022.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $46,839, a 0.5% increase in the past day and a 1.93% drop in the past week.
