New York Stock Exchange Files New Trademark in Metaverse Foray

New York Stock Exchange

The New York Stock Exchange has filed an application to trademark NYSE for non-fungible tokens, cryptocurrencies, and a virtual marketplace.

Trademark and patent lawyer, Michael Kondoudis, notes that the move affirms the importance of metaverse and urges companies to plan accordingly.

Kondoudis says that the NYSE is proactive in establishing itself as the leading financial exchange in the metaverse. He observed that non-tech firms were equally taking steps into the metaverse.

The application for metaverse trademarks among corporations is currently on the rise. McDonald’s has filed twelve trademarks for virtual services while Victoria Secrets has made four applications.

Metaverse began among the technology companies as an immersive virtual universe enabling social interactions and exploration.
