Elon Musk has announced plans to integrate Twitter payments, including support for cryptocurrencies.
The billionaire commented in a leaked transcript published by Vox that money was a form of information and that digital payments were gaining adoption.
The internal meeting was held on June 16, 2022, where Musk engaged Twitter employees in a Q&A session on how he will manage the social media company post-acquisition.
Twitter unveiled support for bitcoin tipping and added ether support at the start of the year. Musk is eying a more direct integration than what is available currently.
The Tesla boss says that payments would be a part of the broader move to maintain a user base shortly. He adds that news, entertainment, and payments will make Twitter important for users.
The news comes as speculations mount on whether Musk will finalize his twitter acquisition deal after he said that he retains the right to pull out.
