Ukraine Cancels Crypto Airdrop, to Sell NFTs in Fighting Russian Invasion

Ukraine Cancels Crypto Airdrop

Ukraine has opted to issue non-fungible tokens instead of the planned cryptocurrency airdrop for the accounts that donated to its cause against aggression.

The country’s minister for digital transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the change of plan despite confirmation that the airdrop was to happen today.

Fedorov underscored that more people across the globe are willing to help Ukraine fight back the Russian aggression.

He adds that the NFT sale, which aims to support the country’s armed forces, will be announced soon. Fedorov notes that the country has no plans to issue fungible tokens.

Ukraine received more donations after the announcement of the airdrop but no further details have been released about the upcoming NFT sale.

Scammers had tried to hijack the fundraising plans by issuing a fake token that recorded high trading volumes despite appearing illegitimate.
