Other notable gainers include Rogers Communications Inc. Cl B (RCI), Norfolk Southern Corp. (NSC), and Ferrari N.V. (RACE), all posting gains of at least 7%. However, Brunswick Corp. (BC) and Markel Group Inc. (MKL) started the day with declines, falling 6.6% and 5.3% respectively.
Market Futures and Commodities
Looking at market futures, the S&P 500 futures are up 0.43%, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.14%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures also experienced an increase of 5.53%.
In commodities news, Brent crude oil futures rose 0.70%, while gold futures declined by 0.93%. Bitcoin also fell by 0.58%, reaching $42,178.
Treasury Yields and International Markets
The 10-Year Treasury yield has risen to 3.943%.
During the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow experienced losses of 1.61% and 0.82% respectively. Asian stocks followed suit, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index dropping 0.76% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index falling 0.64%.
European stock markets currently show mixed results in afternoon trading. The STOXX Europe 600 Index dropped by 0.08%, while the FTSE 100 Index rose by 0.33% from the previous close.
