Shiba Inu developers plan to launch a layer-two scaling solution called, Shibarium and metaverse-related features that the infrastructure would support.
The solution, which was put forward by the creator of the meme token, Ryoshi, was a subject of discussion on Discord, where users posted screenshots on the same.
The developer team maintains that they would use Shibarium instead of waiting for the ETH 2.0 upgrade set for 2022.
The creators did not give the timeline of the expected rollout, saying that it would not assure success.
The news comes amid reports that the meme coin is planning to venture into the metaverse space, and the scaling solution could have come at the right time.
The new development follows new data showing that 7% of Shiba Inu holders were added in the past 20 days, attributable to a bullish sentiment from the new report.
