Sandbox has partnered with Elvis Presley Enterprises and Run it Wild to connect fans to the 1950s American singer and actor, Elvis Presley, in the virtual world.
The blockchain is developing Elvis avatars with partners at Voxel Architects. The digital creatures will be used in Elvis World, a new space built for Elvis fans.
The birthday anniversary of the King of Rock and Roll will be celebrated by mining 1,935 Elvis Genesis Key NFTs for accessing the Elvis-On-Chain Metaverse that opens on June 1.
The COO and co-creator of the Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, opined that the blockchain seeks to empower Elvis fans to express themselves and be their own Elvis.
An Elvis Block Party is also expected to be unveiled on Decentraland after the genesis NFT generation. The experience will be a World Record trial for Elvis impersonators.
The announcement has caused the native SAND tokens to jump about 20% over the past 12 hours to trade at $1.52 before retracing to $1.4.
