Grayscale Investments study shows that over a quarter of all the American Investors own bitcoin, and more than half of them joined the asset class within the past year.
Bitcoin has surged in USD value by 70% compared to its price at the start of 2021. The crypto has attracted support from famous personalities like Barry Sternlicht, Paul Tudor Jones, Eric Adam, the New York Mayor, and Miami’s Mayor Francis Suarez.
The world-largest crypto by market capitalization has also gotten the attention of institutional clients like MicroStrategy, which continues to amass BTC.
Grayscale maintains that about 60% of those who participated in the survey were interested in investing in cryptocurrencies, adding that the percentage could change.
The survey notes that the Covid-19 pandemic and the tough financial times are attributed to the surging interest in BTC. About 55% of the holders in the US see it as a safe haven.
