EBay Releases First NFT Collection in Partnership With Tezos and OneOf

First NFT Collection

American multinational e-commerce company eBay has launched a collection of non-fungible tokens with a sport-themed NFT drop in collaboration with Tezos and OneOf.

The batch of NFTs will feature hockey personality Wayne Gretzky, and the price will be between $10 to $1,500. Users can use the platform’s fiat payments platform as that of physical items.

The California-based entity first announced its foray into digital collectibles at the beginning of May, with CEO Jamie Lannone hinting earlier at the possibility of integration.

The announcement comes after OneOf teamed up with Sports Illustrated for an NFT marketplace in February. Conventional e-commerce companies are eying the NFT space, with StockX having unveiled its NFT marketplace at the start of the year.

EBay is the second-biggest electronic commerce site in the US, trailing Amazon. The company has over 140 million users. The firm maintains that the blockchain-driven collectibles enhance authenticity.
