Croatian largest supermarket chain, Konzum, now accepts payment in digital assets, including BTC, Ether, and Bitcoin Cash, in its online stores.
The retailer says that there are plans to extend the same to the physical stores. EOS, XRP, Stellar, USDT, USD Coin, and DAI are the other crypto listed by the retailer.
Konzum has collaborated with Electrocoin, a Croatian crypto payment platform, to rollout the PayCek system for crypto payments among merchants.
The announcement notes that PayCek guarantees a fixed exchange rate for buyers at the beginning of transactions to cushion against volatility.
Konzum is the largest supermarket chain in Croatia with over 700 stores and about 10,000 staff. The company has been in operation for about 65 years. Konzum says that the introduction of crypto in its operations shows a commitment to innovative solutions in the global market.
