What is Dogecoin?

Dogecoin is an open-source peer-to-peer crypto meme coin. It facilitates transactions to be carried out between two parties with total security. Like other digital assets, you can use it to purchase services and articles online. It was introduced in 2013 by Jackson Palmer and Billy Marcus. 

Unlike other digital currencies, there is no limit to the number of Dogecoins that can be mined. This makes it an inflationary asset. This altcoin is supported by a vast community of traders who can exchange it for other digital assets as well as fiat currencies. Holders often use this coin to tip online creators for their contributions.

Each coin holder possesses a ledger that contains the record of all the deals. The network ensures transactional security via cryptography. It is based on a proof of work mechanism where members create new blocks and authenticate transactions using computing power. By generating new blocks, miners receive incentives in the form of DOGE. These tokens offer low-cost and high-speed transactions. Because of its inflationary nature, it is quite difficult to clearly predict future coin price changes for this asset.
