Victoria’s Secret Partners with Google Cloud Vertex AI

Victoria’s Secret & Co. announced a collaboration with Alphabet’s Google Cloud Vertex AI division to introduce an online chatbot that offers customized advice to shoppers. The financial details of this multi-year agreement have not been disclosed.

The “conversational chatbot” developed by Victoria’s Secret aims to provide customers with tailored product recommendations and helpful advice based on their personal preferences and life experiences. Whether customers are sports enthusiasts, nursing mothers, breast cancer survivors, or simply in need of a new bra, the chatbot will engage with them and offer suitable choices.

Following the announcement, Victoria’s Secret’s stock witnessed a premarket trading increase of 0.8%, while Alphabet’s stock saw an uptick of 0.4%.

The lingerie retailer plans to leverage Google Cloud’s AI and generative-AI technologies to enhance both customer experience and operational efficiency. With over 500 million website visits annually, Victoria’s Secret aims to make the most of this technology to drive growth.

Additionally, Victoria’s Secret has already been utilizing Google’s Vertex AI and Duet AI for its direct-to-consumer lingerie brand, Adore Me. The company is actively exploring ways to integrate cutting-edge AI technologies into its internal operations, including marketing strategies and analyzing customer sentiment.

Google’s AI capabilities could also be employed to optimize Victoria’s Secret’s supply chain and enhance human resources processes.

This partnership between Victoria’s Secret and Google Cloud Vertex AI signifies a significant step towards providing customers with a personalized and seamless shopping experience.
