As the U.S. stock markets prepare to open in just two hours, there are several notable movements in pre-market trading. Alcon Inc. (ALC) is showing a 5.6% increase, while Intuitive Surgical Inc. (ISRG) also enjoys a 5.6% gain.
Other gaining stocks in pre-market trading include Toast Inc. (TOST), Magna International Inc. (MGA), and First Horizon Corp. (FHN), all reporting gains of at least 3%. However, Marathon Digital Holdings Inc. (MARA) and Chewy Inc. Cl A (CHWY) have faced declines, falling 3.7% and 3.5% respectively.
Looking at the futures market, the S&P 500 futures are up by 0.02%, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average show a slight decrease of 0.06%. Additionally, the Cboe Volatility Index futures have seen a decline of 3.10%.
Shifting our focus to commodities, Brent crude oil futures have increased by 0.15%, while gold futures have risen by 0.35%. On the other hand, Bitcoin has experienced a slight fall of 0.51% and is currently valued at $45,324.
It is worth noting that the 10-Year Treasury yield has fallen to 3.990%.
In the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and Dow experienced slight declines of 0.15% and 0.42% respectively. Overnight, Asian stocks performed mixed, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index up by 2.01% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index down by 0.54%.
As we move into the afternoon trading session, European stocks are facing declines as well. The STOXX Europe 600 Index is down by 0.15%, and the FTSE 100 Index has declined by 0.26% from its previous close.
