Robinhood Chief Operating Officer Christine Brown praises the Shiba Inu community drive amid pressure to list the meme token.
Brown disclosed that Robinhood’s cryptocurrency wallet waitlist already had 1.6 million users. She maintains that the financial service company was prioritizing safety over a rush to onboard new tokens. The crypto wallet enables users to move digital assets on and off the platform with full control.
The COO says that the regulatory framework was another factor to consider if Robinhood was to introduce any new crypto.
The Shiba Inu community has intensified a campaign to have the token on Robinhood’s trading app. A petition on Change.org pushing for the listing has garnered over 500,000 signatures.
Shina Inu ranks at the 11th largest cryptocurrency spot with a market capitalization of $29 billion and $2.5 billion trading volume in the past 24 hours.
