PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong has announced an acquisition of LAND in the Sandbox metaverse to expand its advisory services in the virtual space.
The advisory firm wants to set up a Web 3.0 advisory hub in the immersive world offering accounting and tax consulting services.
A partner at the institution, William Gee, says that the company would advise clients on the metaverse, terming the technology as a digital phenomenon.
The cryptocurrency leader at PWC, Henri Arslanian, noted in July that the venture capitalists were locking out smaller firms in benefiting from the emerging Web 3.0 space.
Sandbox reportedly recorded 4,450 unique users in the past month, despite its native currency SAND retracing 30% from an all-time high to trade at $5.84.
PWC global announced revenue of $45 billion for the year ended June 2021, a 2% increase compared to last year. The firm is based in London.
