PepsiCo has entered the NFT market with The Genesis Mic Drop Collection that contains 1,893 generative microphones to celebrate the brand’s history.
Genesis Mic Drop Collection is the first NFT project by the company. In the creation, algorithmically random characteristics would form a collection of collectibles.
The featured mics would have certain attributes and rarities, representing the year the firm was founded.
The first 1,893 people on the waiting list, opened on December 10, would have a chance to mint a Pepsi NFT on December 14, 12.30 pm EST.
Each NFT is on the Ethereum blockchain and free of charge for those eligible except for the gas fees.
Pepsico has had a close link with the music industry with endorsement deals by artists like Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles, and Calvin Harris.
The recent craze by musicians such as Timbaland and Snoop Dogg in non-fungible tokens seems to have pushed Pepsi to follow suit.
