Morgan Stanley has increased Grayscale BTC Trust shares in three major funds for more bitcoin exposure.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday’s filing shows that the fund manager has increased its GBTC holding in the insight funds to 1,520,549 as of September 30, from 928,051 in the second quarter of this year.
Morgan Stanley added its GBTC holding by 71% to 3,642,118 in the Growth Portfolio in the third quarter from 2,130,153 in the prior period. The company’s holding in the Global Opportunity Portfolio rose 59% from 919,805 to 1,463,714 GBTC.
The multinational bank’s bitcoin exposure is now about $303 million in the three funds, with the current GBTC price estimated at $45.72.
Morgan Stanley has been growing its investment in the crypto space, recently unveiling plans for a cryptocurrency research unit.
