Marcus Corp.’s stock (MCS) rose 0.9% on Monday following the announcement by Marcus Theatres that they will be showing Beyoncé’s concert film, “Renaissance World Tour.”
The Film Premiere
Starting from December 1, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” will be screened on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at Marcus Theatres and Movie Tavern screens across 17 states. There will also be special early screenings on November 30.
Concert Films in the Spotlight
The release of major concert films has gained significant attention recently, with high-profile artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift hitting the big screen. In fact, Taylor Swift’s “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour” film is set to debut in theaters on October 13.

According to a report from Variety on Saturday, AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. (AMC) is currently in advanced talks to distribute Beyoncé’s concert film directly through its theaters. This further showcases the growing popularity and demand for these types of films.
Cinematic Competition
AMC rival, Cinemark Holdings Inc. (CNK), has also joined the concert film trend by offering Private Swiftie Parties. Fans can enjoy a private auditorium screening of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” film.
Stock Performance
Following the news, Marcus Corp.’s stock has seen an increase of 8.7% in 2023. On Monday, AMC’s stock rose by 4.3%, outperforming the decline of 0.1% in the S&P 500 Index. Similarly, Cinemark’s stock rose by 1.3% on the same day.
