Lafarge posts record N269bn Revenue in Q2 2025, profit soars by 248%

*Operating Profit Jumps 153% as Innovation and Efficiency Drive Growth

Lafarge Africa Plc, a leading cement and building solutions provider, reported a record revenue of N268.63 billion for Q2 2025, a 70% surge from N157.80 billion in Q2 2024, according to unaudited results released by the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

Operating profit rose 153% to N120.61 billion from N47.70 billion, fueled by strong topline growth and operational efficiency.

Profit after tax skyrocketed 248% to N84.03 billion, up from N24.16 billion, driven by robust performance and naira stability with minimal foreign exchange losses.

CEO Lolu Alade-Akinyemi attributed the stellar results to innovative product offerings and strategic operational efficiencies.

“Q2 builds on our strong Q1, with net sales up 70%, operating profit up 153%, and profit after tax soaring 248%. This closes H1 2025 with 75% sales growth and 144% operating profit growth, reflecting our focus on innovation and market positioning,” he said.

Despite macroeconomic challenges impacting purchasing power, Alade-Akinyemi expressed confidence in sustained growth.

“We remain committed to cost management and our ‘Accelerating Green Growth’ strategy, leveraging innovative solutions to deliver stakeholder value,” he added.

The company anticipates continued market expansion in H2 2025, capitalizing on volume opportunities while advancing sustainability goals.

Alade-Akinyemi thanked Lafarge’s team, customers, and stakeholders for their support, noting their resilience strengthens the company’s optimistic outlook for the building industry.
