eBay CEO Jamie Iannone says the company will soon accept crypto, with the move intended to be a go-to marketplace for Millennials and Gen Z.
Iannone says the company has been exploring crypto payment options for a while and could make an official announcement on March 10, during the investors’ day.
The crypto inroad is a move to lure customers, with the e-commerce platform saying it is already processing $85 billion of transactions.
The CEO pointed at the growing popularity of NFTs in the marketplace, with the booming space calling for an addition of crypto payment options.
lannone says eBay has improved its policies to make the platform a place for buying anything including digital commodities. The company attempted to integrate BTC payments in 2014.
