CUJ Community College conducts induction programme for B Voc students

JAMMU, Sept 24: The Community College of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) organized a Student Induction Programme for the newly admitted batch of B Voc-BFS students (2025-2028), here today.

The programme was designed to familiarize students with the academic ethos of the University and provide insights into career opportunities in the corporate sector.

Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, CU Jammu, in his address, spoke about the latest trends and emerging technologies shaping higher education and the professional landscape. He motivated students to embrace innovation, adaptability, and make the best use of the opportunities available at CUJ.

Prof K S Chandrasekhar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, graced the event as the special guest. He emphasized the importance of focus and determination in seizing opportunities to excel in today’s dynamic professional environment.

Industry experts also shared valuable perspectives with the students. Bhuvan Gupta, Cluster Head & SVP, YES Bank, highlighted emerging trends in the banking sector, including digital banking, financial services, and the potential of future digital currency markets in India.

Vikas Mittal, General Manager, NABARD, J&K, elaborated on the role of rural credit, agricultural lending, funding opportunities, and sectoral challenges.

Prof Neelika Arora, Dean, School of Business Studies, encouraged students to uphold truthfulness and integrity as the foundation for academic and professional success.

Dr Naresh Sharma, Principal, Community College, highlighted the importance of skill-based education in areas such as banking, finance, and retail management. He also informed the gathering about the institution’s collaborations, including its tie-up with SEBI for financial literacy and capacity-building initiatives.

In the second session, Prof Vandana Sharma, Dean, School of Languages & Director, Physical Education, stressed the significance of sports and indigenous games in fostering discipline, leadership, and teamwork

Romesh Kumar, Assistant Librarian, described the University Library as a vital resource hub for research and academic growth, while Suryaksh Dubey, ATPO, guided students on placement and internship opportunities.

As a mark of welcome, induction kits were distributed among the freshers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Shahid.
