Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has launched a pilot for its NTF marketplace with support for Ethereum and planned integration of other blockchains.
Coinbase NFT is now available for some users drawn from the waitlist, which has reached millions of subscribers since October. The platform notes that more users will be added in the coming weeks as per their signups.
A representative from the exchange says that Coinbase NFT will aggregate listings from marketplaces saying that any NFT for sale on Ethereum will be available on the platform.
Coinbase NFT will reportedly launch with no additional transaction fees aside from the usual Ethereum gas fees, but charges will be introduced later.
Coinbase NFT will only be compatible with self-custody wallets like Coinbase Wallet and MetaMask and the wallets that support the WalletConnect protocol. The platform plans to introduce optional NFT custody services.
