Star Atlas is a gaming metaverse developed on a 2620 science fiction. The multiplayer platform, which runs on the Solana blockchain, allows users to travel to a virtual space searching for tradable NFT gems. The platform uses Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite for a cinematic impression in space explorations—the actions of users in the space-themed ecosystem help mine new blocks. Star Atlas operates as a decentralized ecosystem, allowing users to own in-game items.
The platform is integrated with Serum Decentralized Exchange for seamless interactions with smart contracts and DeFi.
The metaverse uses an ATLAS token to power transactions, while POLIS is a governance token. There are 2.16 billion ATLAS coins in circulation out of a maximum supply of 36 billion.
Star Atlas was unveiled by founders Michael Wagner, Pablo Quiroga, and Deb Lucas in January 2021. Wagner is the company’s CEO, while Quiroga is the Chief Operating Officer, and Lucas heads operations.
