What is HUSD?
HUSD is a fiat-pegged stablecoin on Ethereum. The token is ERC20 standardized and is kept in reserves by the Paxos Trust Company. HUSD is created when fiat currency is deposited in Paxos bank accounts and burned when the funds are withdrawn.
HUSD is secured by the proof-of-reserve model, which maintains that the system is entirely collateralized when the number of the HUSD in circulation matches the value of the funds in the FDIC-insured US-domiciled financial institutions for Paxos. The number of circulating HUSD tokens will always match that in reserves to maintain the price ratio at 1:1.
HUSD can be exchanged into USD in one business day. Stable Universal, the issuing entity, shares monthly reports on the USD reserves vis à vis the HUSD tokens in circulation. The stablecoin is listed on Huobi global exchange and has SlowMist as its external auditor.
There are currently 396,416,905.76 circulating HUSD tokens from an uncapped supply of 396,416,906. Stable Universal retains the authority to adjust the circulating supply of HUSD tokens.
HUSD project development began in 2019. Frank Zhang, Claude Gu, and Shi Deng are the founders of Stable Universal.
