The platform was introduced in 2015 by Esteban Ordano and Ari Meilich, both of whom are Argentinean citizens. Originally a pixilated grid environment based on proof-of-work, it gradually matured into a dynamic 3D world.
All of the items in this game are depicted by NFTs. The LAND token amounts to real estate and each of them comes with a distinct coordinate and stores data related to authorship and contents of the land. Adjacent LAND parcels constitute estates that allow for easier management of holdings.
Other than dealing in various articles and real estate, members can interconnect with others through games and artwork. The native token MANA grants users electoral rights. By converting them into wrapped tokens, members can vote for developmental proposals. The power of a vote depends on the number of LAND coins held in a specific district, which is yet another type of land grouping.
