What is Crypto.com Coin?

Crypto.com Coin or CRO is a cryptocurrency launched in 2016 by Crypto.com, a Hong Kong-based company. This digital asset was initially an ERC-20 type on the Ethereum network but later shifted to the native Crypto.org Chain Mainnet. Using this token, you can settle trading fees on the network and earn up to 20% cashback while dealing with online and offline retailers. 

The blockchain network functions as a fault-tolerant permissionless payment gateway that allows for the instant confirmation of payments. This decentralized protocol can reduce transaction confirmation time and execute a greater number of orders in a single second via two types of nodes. The council nodes function as authenticators of transactions, processing vital information and settling orders. They are based on the Tendermint BFT protocol and used in the platform governance. Community nodes are accessible to all members. They authenticate, send and receive orders, and members can use them to settle their orders. 

While network users initiate orders, merchants provide them with goods and services in exchange for digital assets and regular currencies. There are acquirers for both merchants and users.
