What is Yearn.finance?
Yearn.finance is an open-source DeFi aggregator protocol that enables users to earn returns for liquidity farming. The platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain. It aims to assist investors who do not have adequate time to break down the complex DeFi space. The protocol charges withdrawal fees on transactions settlements.
Yearn.finance features yVaults for generating and trading tokens automatically by users. The fees charged in the yVaults are distributed to YFI holders who stake in the governance protocol. Yearn.finance released yETH, a yVault that supports ether deposits. The deposited ETH can be used as collateral for DAI. The DAI can be used in farming CRV and then sold for ETH.
YFI is the native token of yearn.finance. There are 36,637.72 YFI tokens, from a total supply of 36,666 and a matching hard cap. The protocol did not have any pre-mined tokens at its initial stage. Users can earn YFI by offering liquidity on the protocol, where the token is used in governance. YFI can be exchanged with other cryptocurrency tokens listed on exchanges like Binance, Huobi Global, and OKEx.
