What is WAX?
WAX is a blockchain that aims to speed up, simplify and make e-commerce transactions safe. The protocol leverages a delegated proof-of-stake consensus model and is completely operational with EOS. WAX ecosystem features blockchain-based tools that support the instant trading of digital assets in a secure environment. WAX Economic Activity Pool is a smart contract that collects a portion of the minted WAX fees and converts it to ETH to be given to WAXE stakers. WAX network has a 500-millisecond block time and no charge on customer transactions. WAX guilds get rewards when they produce more than half of their scheduled blocks.
WAXP is the native token powering WAX. There are 1.9 billion tokens in circulation from a supply of 3,831,042,356 and no hard cap. WAXP Ethereum bridge enables holders to turn their tokens to WAXE, an ERC-20 standardized currency. Users can burn WAXP for WAXE on the bridge. WAXG is a governance token based on Ethereum that is allotted to the WAXE stakers. The protocol also features WAX Cloud Wallet for electronic commerce settlements.
WAX debuted in 2017, and the co-founders are William Quigley and Jonathan Yantis.
