What is Trust Wallet Token?
Trust Wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet based on the BNB chain with an in-built decentralized exchange. The wallet ecosystem is secured via the BNB chain’s proof-of-stake consensus algorithm. The wallet is available for Android and iOS applications with support for multiple tokens under the ERC20, ERC721, BEP20, and BEP2 standards. The Trust Wallet app supports crypto-fiat transactions, staking, decentralized exchange, and a Web3 browser.
Trust Wallet Token was the first token to launch on the BNB chain to contribute to the progress of Web3 and ease access to decentralized applications.
TWT is both a utility and a governance coin. The token is available in BEP-2 and BEP-20 standards. There are 346,951,186 circulating TWT tokens from an uncapped supply of 1 billion. In 2020, 90 billion tokens were generated by the developers. Due to poor circulation, the project team burned 89 million of the supply, and the remaining 25% were airdropped to early adopters.
TWT holders can participate in governance and vote on the platform’s proposals. TWT users get additional benefits like discounts on in-app purchases and decentralized applications for utility purposes. TWT can be transferred to all the supported wallets on the BNB chain, which works as an exchange for other assets or payments.
Trust Wallet was founded by Viktor Radchenko in 2017 before being acquired by Binance in 2018.
