What is Tomb?
Tomb is an algorithmic stablecoin developed on Fantom Opera that is backed by an FTM token through Seigniorage. The token aims to bring liquidity and additional use cases to Opera Network. Tomb achieves the peg by regulating token supply and increasing the price to match the FTM token.
Tomb operates as a multi-token protocol featuring TOMB, TSHARE, and TBOND tokens. TBOND stabilizes the price of TOMB by cutting its circulating supply when the time-weighted average price drops below 1 FTM, in what is known as the Bonds mechanism. TSHARE measures the value of the Tomb protocol by minting TOMB and distributing it to the TSHARE holders who stake their tokens in Masonry. TSHARE is also the platform’s governance token that allows users to contribute to the decision-making processes.
TOMB is the native token powering the Tomb blockchain. There are 259,896,536.75 company-reported TOMB tokens from an uncapped initial supply of 300,001.
The distribution of TOMB in the expansion is 80% for the reward for boardroom TSHARE stakers, 18% for the DAO fund, and 2% for development. The project claims that TOMB-FTM LP can be staked in the Cemetery for a chance for users to earn TSHARE rewards. TOMB token is not collateralized, unlike fiat-backed stablecoin, meaning that the token might not be equivalent in value to FTM tokens all the time.
