What is Theta Fuel?
Theta Fuel is the second token powering Theta Blockchain. It incentivizes users to share their extra computing power as catching or relay nodes in video streams. Tether Ledger is secured with the proof-of-stake consensus algorithm.
The multi-level BTF consensus mechanism allows many nodes to validate transactions while maintaining a high level of transaction speed. The first level is done by a validator committee, consisting of fewer nodes. The next category is the Guardian nodes, which complete the chain created by the validator committee at frequent checkpoint blocks.
Theta blockchain is based on the Aggregated Signature Gossip Scheme that simplifies communication. The aggregation feature reduces the size of messages to cut down on the communication overhead. The scalability of the Theta is further improved with the Resource-Oriented Micropayment Pool. The pool facilitates on-chain transactions with off-chain settlements.
TFUEL is also used as a gas token and in the deployment of smart contracts. There are 5.3 billion circulating TFUEL tokens from a total supply of 5,301,214,400 and no hard cap.
Theta blockchain was founded by Mitch Liu and Jieyi Long in 2017.
