What is Perpetual Protocol?
Perpetual Protocol is a decentralized exchange operated on Ethereum and xDAI that support on-chain futures trading via smart contracts. Users can take a short or long cryptocurrency position and benefit from ten times leverage. The network supports instant settlements and the trading of fiat currencies and commodities using the Virtual Automated Market Maker technology.
The platform uses Chainlink as an oracle in the funding rate calculations. Perpetual does not operate its on-chain oracle as a price engine to avoid the use of flash loans in asset price manipulation and profiting from the protocol at the same time. The network complies with Consensys and Peckshield audit and is managed by a community.
PERP is the primary currency of Perpetual used in staking and governance. 68,700,000 PERP are circulating, a total supply of 150,000,000 and no maximum. PERP is an ERC20 standardized token based on the Ethereum network. The blockchain secures transactions using the POW consensus model.
