What is OEC Token?
OEC is an open-source blockchain that enables users to deploy and manage decentralized applications. The project is developed by cryptocurrency exchange OKEx and aims to enhance the advancement of enterprise-scale applications using blockchain technology.
The platform allocates the same privileges to all the participating nodes, enabling users to deploy multiple dApps, digital issue assets, and set trading pairs. OEC is secured through a proof-of-stake consensus algorithm with more than 100 validators on the blockchain.
OKT is the native utility and governance token powering the OEC protocol. The currency enables users to participate in governance, staking, and transaction settlement. Users can delegate their OKT tokens to the validator nodes and earn a token reward in return. There are 11,547,688 company-reported OKT tokens from a total supply of 11,547,688 and a hard cap of 41,963,350.
About 10 million OKT tokens were initially generated at the project inception and are set to be distributed to the stakers of OKB on OKX Jumpstart. The OEC protocol applies a halving mechanism every three years, with the current block reward being 0.5 OKT. OEC mainnet begun in 2020
