What is Merit Circle?
Merit Circle is a decentralized autonomous organization for play-to-earn games. The DAO aims to enhance participation in P2E games through training opportunities and in-game items for users across the globe. Merit’s treasury comprises game-related NFTs and early-stage ventures in P2E projects. Merit currently supports games, including Vulcan Verse, Sidus Heroes, Axie Infinity, Metalcore, and Ascenders.
Merit Circle DAO is composed of layers with a MainDAO developed above multiple subDAOs. The MainDAO manages the advancement of Merit Circle and is governed off-chain by MC token holders and the project’s team. The layer also maintains and scales the treasury, including oversight on subDAO treasuries, capital reserves, tokens staking, and non-fungible tokens. The subDAO are the various P2E games in the ecosystem, each having its vaults.
MC token is an ERC20 standardized token used in governance, rewards, and as an index in gaming transactions. There are currently 42,592,000 circulating MC tokens from a total supply of 1 billion and a maximum matching supply.
Merit Circle uses 60% of the proceeds after realizing profits by pegging buy orders at 15% to 30% lower than the market price. The DAO seeks to use 15% of the investments to repurchase and burn part of the token supply. Merit Circle rewards token holders with time-weighted staking rewards, initial access to projects, NFT airdrops, and in-game rewards. Merit Circle was launched in 2021 by Marco van den Heuvel.
