What is Mango Markets?

Mango aims to incorporate the liquidity and usefulness of centralized and decentralized finance technologies characterized by lower costs and fast transaction speeds. The platform is developed on the Solana network and uses Serum Decentralized Exchange for spot margin trading. Perpetual futures are exchanged on Mango Orderbook.

The project utilizes decentralized governance to enable users to decide on network advancement — Mango benefits from the 400ms block times and about 50,000 TPS throughput speeds on Solana. The low latency cuts the risk of market movements by reducing the time to change a price quote, making the bid and ask spreads competitive.  

MNGO is the primary token at Mango Markets. There are 1 billion MNGO tokens, a total supply of 10,000,000,000, and an equivalent limit. A large portion of MNGO tokens is kept in the DAO treasury for distribution based on the holders’ resolutions.

The initial margin protocol integrates a lending and borrowing feature on Serum where a user operates a margin account. Users can deposit tokens included in the group, and the value in the quote currency is ascertained using an oracle.
