What is KuCoin Token?
KuCoin token is a digital asset issued by cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin. The exchange created the currency to enable the sharing of gains with the traders. KuCoin exchange functions as a centralized and decentralized exchange, with an aim to fully transition to the latter. The token is secured by a standard encryption protocol that protects data from unauthorized access.
There are 80,118,638 circulating KCS tokens from a total supply of 170,118,638 and a matching hard cap. KCS was issued as an ERC-20 standardized token on Ethereum and is supported in all Ethereum-based wallets.
Users with a certain amount of KCS tokens are eligible for discounts on the transaction fees and a daily bonus reward. The bonus distributed is equivalent to 50% of the total trading fees at the exchange. KuCoin plans to gradually repurchase and destroy half the token supply, leaving a fixed supply of 100 million.
KCS was introduced in 2017 by the KuCoin exchange. The company was originally formed in 2013 by Michael Gan, Eric Don, Top Lan, Kent Li, John Lee, and Jack Zhu.
