What is Keep Network?
Keep Network is a protocol that enables users and applications to store data privately. The Network is supported by off-chain containers for private data known as Keeps that enable smart contracts to decode data while maintaining anonymity. Keep data encryption is implemented via multi-party computation sMPC.
Keep enables contracts to use private data while keeping it confidential in a public blockchain. The blockchain randomly assigns the Keeps to a group of participants called signers, who assist in storing and managing the data containers. Keep’s main application is tBTC application, which is a trust-minimized bridge linking bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains.
There are currently 654,989,475.18 circulating KEEP tokens from a total supply of 999,848,781 and a hard cap of 1 billion. Participants can stake the tokens for them to act as signers and earn a portion of the service fee.
Keep developers sold 322,882,336 KEEP tokens in two private stake sales during project inception. The subscribers were given the option of bonus tokens ranging between 20 and 50% based on the locking period, between 6 months to 2 years. The next sale had a one-year lockup period and a 20% bonus. From the distribution in the sales, 50,638,076 KEEP will mature in 6 months, 47,168,287 in a year, and 225,075,973 tokens will open in two years after the distribution.
Keep Network was created in 2017 by founders Matt Luongo and Corbin Pon.
