What is iExec RLC?
iExec is a decentralized block-chain based cloud computing marketplace. The protocol links resource providers and sellers in a peer-to-peer trustless environment. iExec benefits from the Ethereum Smart Contracts to offer on-demand computing services. The network’s Proof-of-Contribution consensus validates off-chain transactions to reinforce the applications that operate on the smart contracts.
The network categorizes resource providers into; Application, data, and computing providers. iExec allows application providers to earn from their apps, algorithms, or functions. Computing providers can rent their extra server space on the protocol. Data providers can earn from the data-set usage. iExec operates a Trusted Execution Environment, a part of the machine’s CPU that protects the code from being altered.
RLC is an ERC-standardized token native to iExec. There are 80,070,793.24 RLC tokens from a total supply of 86,999,785 and no maximum limit. RLC is used in rewarding computing resource providers, also known as iExec workers. Users can offer computing resources by linking their machines to the network resource pool.
