What is Golem?

Golem is a decentralized protocol for sharing computing power in a peer-to-peer ecosystem. The protocol enhances decentralized services and non-synchronized task implementation. Golem functions as a Platform-as-a-Service and as an Infrastructure-as-a-Service in its decentralization approach. The network rewards service providers for sharing their computing powers.  

Golem’s Application registry is an open Ethereum Smart contract enabling the publishing of user-generated applications compatible with the blockchain. Developers who deploy their applications in the Golem network can choose the transaction model they want to implement but must comply with its transaction model. Golem’s tools include Golem’s SDKs, RUST API, Awesome Golem, and Execution environments.

GLM is the native token of Golem used in powering the network. GLM is a token based on the Ethereum network. There are 1 billion circulating tokens from an equivalent total supply and no maximum available supply. The initial token was Golem Network Token, but the holders migrated to GLM in 2020.
