What is e-Radix?
e-Radix is the wrapped ERC20 version of the Radix token. The token can be exchanged for XRD at a 1:1 ratio. e-Radix was released before the launch of the Radix ledger. It was intended to promote the distribution of Radix tokens for enhanced network security through staking. Radix is a layer-one blockchain that is developed for Decentralized Finance.
Radix is fully decentralized and uses the delegated proof-of-stake consensus algorithm. Users stake their XRD tokens to validator nodes with the freedom to choose the node they want to stake in a delegation process. The platform aims to create a secure, scalable, and versatile DeFi ecosystem.
There are 734,834,633 circulating EXRD tokens from a hard cap of 4,410,000,000. The maximum amount of e-Radix tokens was initially set to be distributed as locked and unlocked tokens on the Ethereum platform. 4.2 billion were distributed from the initial supply as 99% locked and 1% unlocked e-Radix tokens.
The launch of e-XRD distribution started in 2020 by Radix, a protocol that was founded by Dan Hughes.
