What is Bitkub Coin?

Bitkub is a blockchain protocol owned by Thailand-based technology firm Bitkub. The chain is open-source and aims to advance the adoption of blockchain technology among enterprise and individual users. The protocol is secured through the proof-of-authority consensus model. In the consensus, a set of pre-qualified nodes are selected to validate transactions before a new block, which is added every 5 seconds, is generated. 

The platform consists of a decentralized peer-to-peer network of nodes. The nodes are categorized either as full nodes, validator nodes, or Bootnodes. The units manage a distributed ledger and a virtual machine that maintains consensus. Bitkub supports decentralized applications focusing on decentralized exchanges, tokenized data, and yield farming functionality. The chain is interoperable with the Ethereum blockchain through the Ethereum virtual machine and Solidity.

KUB is the native utility token powering Bitkub Chain. There are 88,750,000 company-reported circulating KUB tokens from a total supply of 110,000,000 and a hard cap of a billion. KUB serves both as a utility and governance token. It is used in paying transaction charges and redeeming trading fee credit on Bitkub exchanges.

Bitkub was launched in 2021 by Bitkub Blockchain Technology Company Ltd.
