What is Bancor Network Token?
Bancor is a decentralized exchange operated on the Ethereum protocol that facilitates automatic token conversion. The interface allows users to stake tokens in return for the fees and rewards guaranteed against impermanent losses. The platform is run by a community and managed via a DAO.
Bancor features multiple smart contracts that enhance the on-chain exchange of tokens. Bancor’s smart contracts oversee liquidity pools that link tokens in the network. BNT is the main token of Bancor. There is 236,077,110.53 circulating token supply from a total of 236,077,111. The protocol converts other cryptocurrencies without counterparties. The tokens that can be liquidated must be ERC20 or EOS standardized.
Bancor supports liquid and relay tokens. A relay token is used for staking and liquidity purposes. It shows the amount staked compared to the pool value. A liquid token is automated with one reserve and creates and destroys itself. It does so by sending reserve tokens to its smart contract. Bancor was created in 2017 by Eyal Hertzog, Yudi Levi, Galia and Guy Benartzi.
