What is Aavegotchi?
Aavegotchi is a DeFi-focussed non-fungible token based on Aave open-source protocol. The NFT is a game avatar representing collateral formed via staking ERC-20 based tokens. Aave translates to a ghost in Finnish.
Aavegotchis have three aspects; traits, wearable, and the spirit force to ascertain the token’s uniqueness. The rarer the token, the more valuable it is. Each NFT has an escrow address holding ERC-20 collateral, known collectively as aToken. aTokens are derivatives that earn interest and are created upon deposit and burned when redeemed.
Aavegotchi token has specific traits from its origination or based on the actions of the user. The token manages ERC-1155 and ERC-721 standardized NFTs, called wearables, that add or reduce some traits.
GHST is the native token of Aavegotchi, which is used for staking, payments, and governance. There are 79,186,289.68 GHST in circulation with no maximum supply.
PixelCraft Studios, LLC is the company behind Aavegotchi’s creation. Coder Dan and Jesse Johnson are the co-founders, and Dan serves as the CEO. The platform was introduced in 2020 following an investment from Aave Protocol and is based in Singapore.
