Multi-platform web browser Opera plans to add in-browser crypto wallet support for eight blockchain protocols, including Bitcoin, Solana, and Polygon.
The other networks to be included by the browser, which recently added Ethereum, include StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, NervosDAO, and IXO. The feature is available from a desktop crypto browser on Android with IOS devices underway.
Opera’s Crypto Ecosystem head, Susie Batt, says that the company prioritizes safety and privacy in the adoption of Web 3. Batt adds that the Web 3 platform needed a Web 2 makeover to onboard more users.
Opera has remained upbeat in the crypto space by constantly developing crypto-related products since 2018 to increase adoption among its more than 300 million users.
Brave is another web browser eying the growing ecosystem with plans to provide more users with multiple decentralized finance capabilities, including layer-2 chains.
