Vueling Airline Partners With Bitpay

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling has partnered with BitPay to enable its travelers to pay for services using cryptocurrencies.

The payment option will be enabled through the technology provided by UATP, a global payment network for the aviation sector, to enable fast integration processes.

Vueling will reportedly be the first low-cost airline in Europe to integrate cryptos like bitcoin and ethereum in its payment. The new payment support is expected to be launched from 2023.

The ticket prices will be displayed in euros and clients will be able to pay for their flight using more than 100 supported wallets on thirteen multiple cryptocurrencies.

Some of the tokens will be Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Shiba Inu, Litecoin, and Wrapped Bitcoin.

Vueling’s manager of distribution strategy and alliances, Jesús Monzó welcomed the partnership opportunity terming the airline as a digital carrier. The executive maintains that the transactions will be completed in a secure and reliable manner.
