Target Corp. has issued a recall for approximately 2.2 million candles sold over the past three years due to potential laceration and burn hazards.
Candle Recall Details
The recalled candles, sold under the Threshold brand, come in two sizes: 5.5 ounces with one wick and 20 ounces with three wicks. They were available in various scents and were sold both in Target stores and on the company’s website from February 2020 through July 2023. The candles were priced between $3 and $12 each.
According to a statement from Target, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 19 reports of the candle jars breaking or cracking during use. Although there has been one report of a minor injury, the company is taking proactive measures to ensure customer safety.
Sensio Inc. Recalls Pressure Cookers
In a separate recall, Sensio Inc. has recalled approximately 860,000 Bella brand electric and stovetop pressure cookers due to a burn hazard.
Pressure Cooker Recall Details
The recall involves various models of Bella electric and stovetop pressure cookers, including Bella Pro Series, Crux, and Cooks. These pressure cookers were available in different capacities.
Sensio Inc. stated that they have received 61 reports of burn injuries caused by the lids unlocking and becoming removable during use. These injuries involved second- and third-degree burns on the face, arms, hands, and torso.
The affected pressure cookers were sold at several retailers, including JCPenney’s, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, and Target stores. They were also available online at Amazon.com. The electric cookers were priced between $30 and $70, while the stovetop cookers ranged from $8 to $18.
Both the candles and pressure cookers were manufactured abroad. The candles were made in Vietnam and imported by Target, whereas the pressure cookers were made in China and imported by Sensio Inc.
Target and Sensio Inc. are working closely with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to ensure consumer safety. If you own any of the recalled products, it is important to stop using them immediately and follow the appropriate steps for returning or disposing of the items.
