Swissquote, Switzerland’s biggest online bank, is planning to launch its cryptocurrency exchange platform in the first half of next year.
The bank’s sales manager, Jan De Schepper, says that the institution wants to enhance more trading of digital assets.
Swissquote aims to be the leading Swiss provider of cryptocurrency services. It plans to onboard more tokens outside of the highly demanded stablecoins and staking services.
The announcement comes after the Swiss Stock Exchange unveiled a digital exchange, SDX. Another bank, Berner Kantanolbank, introduced the SMEIX platform that lists tokenized small caps.
Sygnum digital bank was approved by the Swiss regulators to launch a trading platform that also deals in digital assets.
Swissquote increased its net income from cryptocurrency investments by more than 1000% to 63.2 million CHF in the first half of this year and expects to double it in the current period.
