Regal Cinemas has added cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin, as payments for its tickets and popcorn.
The American movie theater chain said on Tuesday that it would accept digital payments through the Flexa network.
Regal’s Chief Marketing Officer Ken Thewes welcomes the partnership with Flexa, saying that the digital assets, including stablecoins, provided seamless payment solutions. Thewes adds that crypto provides customers with a safe and flexible form of payments in the new digital era.
The move follows that of its biggest competitor, AMC entertainment, which added Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, ETH, and BTC early in the month to its payment methods. AMC’s CEO said that Shiba Inu and Doge could follow.
Crate and Barrel, Whole Foods, and Nordstrom are the other US largest companies to accept bitcoin as a form of payment as crypto adoption gains momentum.
