Mark Zuckerberg Injured in Martial Arts Training

Facebook CEO Suffers ACL Tear

LOS ANGELES — Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, recently suffered an injury during his martial arts training. On Friday, he announced on social media that he tore one of his anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs) while preparing for an upcoming fight in early 2023.

Zuckerberg shared a photo on Instagram showcasing him lying in a hospital bed with his left knee elevated, securely bandaged, and supported by a brace. In his Instagram post, he expressed gratitude to the medical team for their care and support. Zuckerberg also mentioned that his competitive MMA fight would be delayed due to the injury but expressed his eagerness to participate once he has fully recovered.

Meta, headquartered in Menlo Park, California, has not yet provided any official comments regarding Zuckerberg’s injury.

This is not the first time Zuckerberg has shared updates about his martial arts journey. Just a few weeks ago, he posted a close-up photo of his bruised face on Instagram, attributing the bruises to intense sparring sessions that went “a little out of hand.”

During the summer, Zuckerberg and Elon Musk made headlines with their potential face-off in a in-person meeting. The tech moguls engaged in online banter, exchanging playful jabs and increasing curiosity about their possible match. Musk even mentioned his weightlifting training as preparation for the face-off. However, in August, Musk revealed on social media that he might require surgery before the fight could take place.

Following Musk’s announcement, Zuckerberg dismissed the idea of the fight on the Threads social media app, stating his readiness to move on from the matter unless Elon becomes serious about it. Zuckerberg emphasized his focus on competing with individuals who genuinely take the sport seriously.
