Fresenius Medical Care’s Strong Q4 Results

Net Profit Rises Thanks to Cost Savings

Fresenius Medical Care has announced a significant increase in net profit for the fourth quarter, driven by cost savings that offset flat revenue. The German dialysis company reported a net profit of 188 million euros ($202.7 million) for the quarter, compared to EUR139 million in the same period a year earlier. Despite revenue remaining stable at EUR4.99 billion, there was a 7.4% increase at constant currency.

Operating Profit Sees Growth

Adjusted operating profit saw a notable 14% increase to EUR555 million, with the company stating that savings from its 2025 program are exceeding expectations. Analysts had predicted revenue of EUR4.94 billion, adjusted operating profit of EUR546 million, and net profit of EUR176 million.

Positive Outlook for 2024

Looking ahead, Fresenius Medical Care forecasts growth in revenue in the low-to-mid-single-digit percentage range for 2024, along with an increase in operating profit in the mid-to-high teens, at constant currency and excluding special items. Additionally, the board has decided to raise its dividend for 2023 by 6% to EUR1.19 per share.
